THE BLOOM: Witches & Bitches

This month, the theme for The Bloom is Witches & Bitches hosted by the talented Lisa D. Gray. Why, you ask? Why, would Lisa pick such cliched words to string together as her theme? Well here she is in her own words:

These words carry too much weight and hold too much power. When used to describe women, they often become pejorative and denigrating. However, somewhere in the context of these words, in how people from different cultures, spaces and places claim and use these words we find diverse ontological realities, which open room for exploration and play. We’ll be exploring what these words mean to different people in the context of their realities, cultures, values, and beliefs.
