Laura Maschietto is a young artist concerned in working with contemporary concepts such as transformation, fragmentation, distortions and appearance, all originating from social behavior.
Her main technique consists of creating collages with everyday ordinary magazines and newspapers with the goal of crafting new visual messages by isolating and decontextualizing pictures from their original intent.
In the 21st century society, people are strongly inclined to follow specific social commandments looking for acceptance and inclusion and, either conscious or unconsciously, transform their life into a sort of collage. This evolving quality of social behavior is a direct result of contemporary issues such as consumerism, fashion and globalization.
Laura would then act as a radar that surfaces and amplifies our own concerns as a society through her art.
