With over 20 years of experience in arts education, event production, and community engagement, Jason Wyman and Margaret Bacon Schulze founded 14 Black Poppies to foster renewal and bridge generations and cultures. To guide 14 Black Poppies development, Jason and Margaret reflected on their life's work and wrote 14 proverbs that summarize and synthesize their philosophy of community, arts, and wellness. Thus, 14 Black Poppies was born. 14 Black Poppies + Independent Arts and Media14 Black Poppies is proud to announce that it is now fiscally sponsored by Independent Arts and Media. With this new partnership, 14 Black Poppies can realize its mission of cultivating community, arts, and wellness workshops, services, and cultural events throughout the Bay Area and beyond.
